brits do it with their boss.

In an attempt to provide management skill improvement to agency managers and supervisors, my agency routinely distributes a series of newsletters. The following is from a bi-weekly Clement Communications Inc. publication titled "Supervisors Guide to Employment Practices":
Most Brits Would Sleep With Boss
Most employees in Great Britain would be quite happy to sleep with their boss to get ahead, according to a recent poll. Fifty-one percent of the 2,439 employees surveyed by the law firm Peninsula said that if promotion depended on sleeping with their boss, they would agree to the indecent proposal rather than report their boss. Two-thirds admitted to having had an affair at work, but the majority admitted that the relationships didn't work out.
On their website, Clement states that the intent of their newsletter is to help prevent employee relations problems - so your company can stay out of court and preserve it's good reputation.

Uh....

This article sounds more like an advertisement for abuse of power, especially considering that upon most of my bi-weekly read throughs of the rag I toss it into the waste basket thinking " I can't believe that there are idiots in management that think it's okay to fire a guy because he had been acquitted of a murder charge six years ago. Call me old fashion, but whatever happened to waiting for the dude to made a minor policy breach and then beginning the paper trail of suspensions and warnings before you can his ass."

Less important, do Britians find "Brit" derogatory? I'm honestly unsure of this point. Either way, this isn't The Post. Shouldn't a certain amount of tact be practiced when choosing headlines?

I may not be a statistician, but since when is 1,218 employed British people a "most"? It just doesn't seem like a valid conclusion; that's not even taking into account that it was interpolated that most British would actually be happy to bed their superior. I may be spinning this to suit my needs, but sleeping around to get ahead does necessarily mean that you're happy about it.

And what about this Peninsular law firm -- what the hell is going on there? Aren't there wills to be drafted; Criminals to be acquitted? One thing is for sure: I would like to be a boss in that outfit.
